Andy has more than 30 years’ experience in industry including roles in Engineering, Lean Improvement and Plant Management and has held senior positions in the Automotive, Telecommunications and Construction Products Sectors. He has also worked on extended assignments in the UK, United States and several parts of mainland Europe e.g. Norway, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and France where he worked as an undergraduate with Peugeot.
Andy started his career as a Technical Apprentice, where he specialised in tooling design in a Diesel Engine component manufacturing company. This was followed by several years in a development foundry involved in technical applications for Metal Matrix Composites, before he gained his degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Business Management from Loughborough University in the UK. He also holds a number of Technical Qualifications.
Andy has been employed as a Skills Advisor at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) since 2015. His role includes working closely with supply chain companies to find solutions to skill challenges which support and contribute to Jaguar Land Rover’s growth. This has included developing and delivering learning provision.
Andy is part of JLR’s Skillman team where his role has included researching and writing an e-book on skills challenges in robotics.
