Gender Equal guidance for attracting GEN Z in the labour market Facilitator: Sylvia Liuti (FORMA.Azione srl) Valentina Chanina (EfVET) |
In today's rapidly evolving labour market, attracting and retaining Gen Z talent requires a keen understanding of their unique values, preferences, and expectations. Gender Equality as well as LGBTQI+ rights, as key drivers for a more sustainable and equitable society are highly considered by youngsters while reflecting on their career pathway and job opportunities. How much VET providers’ staff are able to promote fruitful discussions on this, thus developing an appropriate set of skills for the next generation of workers? How much skill like critical thinking and diversity awareness are included in VET provision so as to contrast gender stereotypes and prejudices against LGBTQI+? The focus will be also on how unconscious biases through the lens of privilege are replicated, thus negatively affecting people at the workplace and leading to discriminations and social exclusion. This workshop aims to equip VET providers, HR professionals, counsellors, guidance and career advisors with knowledge and useful skills on gender stereotypes affecting VET and labour market in order to design and implement a more attractive and modern training provision in view of creating a more gender-equal and inclusive workplace. |

Enhancing learner wellbeing in VET: Fostering sense of belonging, inclusion, diversity and engagement throughout the InclusiVET project Facilitator: Pelin Ünlü (SEPR) Nik Heerens (Knowledge Innovation Centre) |

We will begin by discussing and highlighting these key concepts. Using the method of case studies, we will introduce scenarios involving underrepresented learners who face challenges in engaging with their studies. Together, we will explore the obstacles they encounter and discuss how VET schools can implement systematic and cultural changes to better support these specific target groups, such as working learners, mature learners, learners with migration backgrounds, and learners with disabilities. Moderators will then delve into why VET centres should prioritise and develop inclusive practices within their organisations. Additionally, the workshop will present research findings and a self-assessment tool developed through the InclusiVET project. |

Virtual reality as a tool to learn customer service situations. Facilitator: Jamie de Vré (ROC van Amsterdam) Laura Koponen (Jyväskylä Educational consortium Gradia) Heini Pennanen (Jyväskylä Educational consortium Gradia) |
In this workshop we will introduce VR4VET environment. Environment is made in Erasmus-project and use of it will increase teachers digital competences as well as students. In this project a VR environment for practicing customer service situations, including several scripted scenarios, will be planned and piloted. By using VR, the students can train customer service in a space which is safe and where they are allowed to fail. Some students have social anxiety and VR environments will offer them a surrounding for rehearsing with avatars. In VR context it’s easier for the teacher, using an avatar, to act as the customer without interference from the role perspective. The service situations can be recorded and discussed afterwards, and the students can learn from each other. VR environments are not place specific and make it possible to practice situations simultaneously no matter where the students are located. Environment can also help international competences across borders without traveling (virtual mobility, improved green practices) in general. Practicing in virtual reality environment will also improve opportunities to practice and assess language skills in customer service e.g., if foreign language speakers are seldom customers during on-the-job learning. VR-simulations are an effective way to learn customer service. |
