Sustainable Human Development:THE KEY IN THE BALANCE FOR A GREEN FUTURE

Abstract

The green and digital transitions are now upon us and VET is working towards Sustainability for a better future and quality of life for all, without forgetting that environment, society, culture and economy are all interrelated.

In this session you will hear about the approach TKNIKA (Basque VET Applied Research Centre) is promoting in VET institutions towards a Sustainable Human Development. You will also have the opportunity to see first hand some of the programmes that are being carried out, for example Circular Economy, Agro-Technology and Food Waste Management (and meet the people who are implementing these projects directly).

We will also hear and learn about best green skills practices directly from the participants in the workshop, and be able to reflect on the challenges of VET for the future and commit ourselves to the next steps in the development of green skills

Questions to stimulate discussion

  1. How are the VET institutions adapting to the new challenges of the green and digital transitions?
  2. Where are the gaps in providing green skills in our VET systems?
  3. What commitments can we make to bridge these gaps efficiently?
